Typically speaking, microlinks can last up to 6 months. I say up to, because anything longer is definitely not recommended. However, if we're talking about an educated extension specialist who also cares about the foundation, in combination with quality extensions, your install is going to be A-LIST for a long while. There are a few things you may want to take into consideration...

+O N E,

Luxury extensions are an investment. They are costly from the install, all the way to the removal.

+T W O,

Maintenance is required. This is the only way to ensure you get the wear that you paid for, AND your hair grows. Which, is still the overall objective, even with extensions.

+T H R E E,

Routine is vital. A hair routine is so important when it comes to your natural hair. This is the difference between your hair thriving and just surviving. This includes shampoos, deep conditionings, treatments, trims, etc. How you treat your natural hair without extensions, will carry over to how you treat your hair with extensions.

As previously mentioned, maintenance is required, because LONGEVITY! How often you should return to your stylist will vary depending on the type of install you get and the type of hair you have. Generally, every 4-6 weeks is standard for extension maintenance (i.e. bead move up) and every 2 weeks for general maintenance (i.e. shampoo and style).
